About the WebTrends Outsider
The WebTrends Outsider is a cabal … a conspiracy … a conclave … well, more like a motley crew of WebTrends customer-users who like to use, understand, and explain WebTrends Analytics. Usually we try to understand before explaining, but not always.
We’ve gotten our understanding (such as it is) from WebTrends tech support and documentation, and sometimes through sources on the Dark Side, mainly involving sinister laboratory experiments and vivisection of config files.
We use WebTrends Analytics heavily. We like using it. Some of us have turned down more lucrative employment using other tools because we want to keep using WebTrends.
As suggested above, we are not necessarily completely rational.
The Outsider’s topics will be practical and we plan to stay strictly away from the tarbaby called “industry commentary.” For that and other pseudo-philosophical aspects of analytics you will have to sleuth out our personal blogs.
We are not sure how this is going to be organized or IF it is going to be organized. We welcome any suggestions that will help it be more useful. Contact us at webtrendsoutsider -at- gmail.

We saw the discussion on the official forum about bounce rate and share the general opinion that was voiced there. And we don’t have any kind of within-WebTrends answer either.
